I'm not sure why I have so many circus assignments lately. This one showed me a totally different side of performance, one met with rules and regulations. I did end up meeting Top Clown Tom Dougherty who was waiting for a class of elementary school children to entertain before the show. It was a no show. He shared some secrets of his environment and told me all in all it was a dark life.

I fear clowns. I fear circuses. If a clown tells you it is dark, imagine how dark it is through our eyes.
